The History of Austintown Dairy:
Austintown Dairy trucks are a popular site in Northeast Ohio, and rightfully so. The family owned company has been serving the area for nearly 50 years. The business began in 1962 as Austintown Ice Cream. The founder, James Creighton, had many years of experience in the dairy industry before beginning his own operation on Navarre Avenue in Austintown, Ohio.
Ice Cream was all he sold during the fi rst couple of years. Then, in 1964, James Creighton added Borden products to his portfolio. In the late 1960’s he moved to Mahoning Avenue in Austintown, Ohio. In the 1980’s the delivery aspect continued to grow as he secured many contracts with local schools for both ice cream and milk.
On March 22nd, 1990, James passed away, leaving Austintown Dairy to his sons, Joe and Tom. This was the perfect fi t since they had grown up and spent their entire lives working in the industry. The two brothers continued to work hard to carry on the tradition of great service and quality products as they successfully took the business to the next level.

In 1997, Austintown Dairy made its new home on Boardman’s Bev Road. The larger facility gave the two brothers greater storage capacity and room to expand their business and product lines. In 2004 a 160 pallet expansion with 5 new loading docks was added.

Our Trucks:
Austintown Dairy has a fl eet of 22 trucks ranging from a 4 door reach-in ice cream truck to 28’ refrigerated box trucks. Our trucks are
also set up to run dual climate. This gives us the ability to deliver both frozen ice cream products and dairy products on the same load. We
cover all Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania running 80 routes a week. This enables multiple deliveries if necessary.
Our Ordering Department:
Our friendly and considerate ordering department consists of 3 people that begin calling our customers for orders 1 day prior to their delivery day to see if an order is needed. All orders need to be in prior to 11am the day before delivery. Our ordering department, with the help of a new computer system, has the ability to see previous orders as you’re giving yours. This is very useful to ensure no products are ever missed.
Our Warehouse:
Our warehouse is divided into 3 sections.
Dairy Cooler – Our dairy cooler is a constant 36 degrees and will hold over 160 pallets of product. We receive product every day because freshness counts!
Freezer – Our Freezer is kept at 20 degrees below zero and can hold a maximum of 300 pallets of frozen products!
Refrigerated Storage – Our refrigerated portion of our warehouse contains our pop, water, and juices. This section is held at 45 degrees. This way these items will not “HEAT SHOCK” dairy products when they’re loaded on a truck. This will also save you money because the product is already cold.
Our Sales Department:
Our sales people will visit and aid in writing orders for ice cream and various juices. We will also provide you with new item information, deals, and answer any questions or concerns you may have.
Our Business:
Austintown Dairy’s experience as a Dairy Distributor spans nearly 50 years. We provide fresh, quality products at competitive prices, combined with extensive knowledge in the industry to provide complete marketing of products and most of all we off er superior service that continues long after the sale.
